All Saints and All souls
The Saints are not those who never make mistakes, but those who have been washed in the Blood of the Lamb. Those who are faithful to the Church and have been embraced by the Lord's Mercy are Saints. A Saint is someone who is aware of his own fragility but is certain of being loved, wanted, embraced by the mercy of God in Jesus, who to make us understand our dignity as children, gave himself over to our wickedness, our fragility, our inability to love.
A Saint is one who abandons himself to God's mercy, one who, true to himself, knowing herself in true, recognizes his own misery and the greatness of God's love. What make us one with them is the great, deep and strong attachment, love and devotion to Jesus Christ.
Meanwhile today, we are united with the whole Church to pray for all the departed brothers and sisters, for all souls. "In full consciousness of this communion of the whole Mystical Body of Jesus Christ, the Church in its pilgrim members, from the very earliest days of the Christian religion, has honored with great respect the memory of the dead; and 'because it is a holy and a wholesome thought to pray for the dead that they may be loosed from their sins' she offers her suffrages for them." Our prayer for them is capable not only of helping them, but also of making their intercession for us effective." (CCC 958)
Our deceased are our life. They are angels who guide us, who support us, who advise us more than we advise ourselves. For this reason, we must have great gratitude and feel them as a living presence.Â
