Jesus addressed this parable to those
who convinced of their own righteousness and despised everyone else.
"Turn your ear, O Lord, and give answer, for I am poor and needy".
All those who reject pride are poor before God and
we know that he turns his ear to the poor and needy. (St. Augustine)
God refuses the proud.
He gives his graces to the humble.
God looks what is within every human person.
If there is around or within you
something prompting you to self-satisfaction, reject it.
We Christians always have this struggle in our everyday life:
to be slave to sin or slave of God. (St. Paul)
God is the Crator and we are his beloved creatures.
We are created for others, we can not live alone by ourselves.
We are absolutely need collaboration,
bearing each other weaknesses in body and spirit;
consider others better than yourselves (cf. RB 72)
Only humility make us happy, full of joy,
the complete joy that is a promise of Jesus.
