The Holy Trinity
The presence of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit
God is a personal being
In Him there is an interpersonal life.
“The only begotten son who is in the bosom of the Father,
He had made him known” (Jn.1:18)
God is therefore present as Trinity,
Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
The father is present; he is the origin of all things, the fountain from which life and everything that exists unceasingly spring forth. He is the ONE WHO IS. Where there is being. He is there, for everything is through him and in Him, and nothing exists outside of him.
‘It is in Him that we have life, movement and being’(Ac.17:28)
The Son is present to us, but in parting He declared to the apostles, ‘I am going to Him who has sent me.’(Jn.16:5), while at the same time assuring them: ‘I am with you always, even to the end of the world’ (Mt.28:20). He remains, therefore, present with the Church for all time, and much more present with each one of us. Let us listen to what He says to His disciple: “If anyone loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and we will make our dwelling on him.” (Jn.14:23).
This presence is full of mystery, as it is full of promises for the presence of the Son in us is not in operative; it is our whole joy.”
